In Celebration, technology plays an essential role in the means of connecting people. Celebration residents stay connected and find out the towns latest news using the Community Intranet. There are blogs and forums posted that the resident’s can all participate in. Local events ands community bulletins can also be found here.
As the planners were laying the infrastructure of the town they did so in such a fashion to be prepared to evolve with technology as it changes. Currently all homes are equipped with Internet capabilities and Celebration residents even have their own private cable television channel that offers special programming. Looking around town visitors often find themselves saying, “Wow, things look so perfect here.” They may or may not realize that one of the reasons it appears that way is the lack of visible utilities. Since Celebration is a very new community, they were able to implement the use of newer technology resulting in burying all of Celebration cables and electrical components, making for a cleaner and crisper look.
